  1. Image #7
Describe: A clearing in a group of leafy foliage, with many vertical woods, and light in the foreground of the image
Interpret: Likely taken in a heavily wooded area, this is a picture of a pathway through the forest during later in the midday.
Theorize: While a very standard photo in terms of shooting techniques, the editing of this photo is very well done to capture the varying darkness of the path as it continues further into the woods, without overexposing the foreground highlights.
    Judge: I like it.

  2. Photo #8
Describe: trees everywhere; a path; dirt ground; dramatic lighting in foreground
Interpret: Photo taken in the woods with a well-known path; looks like it was taken in fall because of all the texture and leaves on the ground; the lighting only makes some trees stand out; has a romantic atmosphere
Theorize: The photo was taken to show the beauty of the woods and how a walk in it can be relaxing. This photo makes viewers want to travel down the path and explore its mysteries.
Judgment: I like it because of the composition and lighting

  3. Describe: decaying object on a wooden ledge. The background is out of focus. The wooden ledge begins outside the image and proceeds across the image at a slanted horizontal angle exiting the captured image on the other side.
Interpret: winter is coming and the surrounding trees have begun to lose their leaves. This one leaf happens to have fallen upon the top of a wooden fence, and has been decaying.
Theorize: the photograph focuses on death, and blurrs out nearly everything else to suggest a critique of how focused people are on death, and how that focus makes it hard for us to see anything else.
