10 best for week

  1. Describe: A classroom, faint depictions of two people, a table
Interpret: The two people are in motion. One of them, a man, appears to be merging with the wall, as if entering a different universe due to the light source on the wall. The female on the right is lunging, as if pushing a rolling stool towards the man. She looks to be assisting the man in his action. The backyard of the image is simple, and slightly blurry, to emphasize the two figures.
Theorize: The photographer used the camera settings, especially a low shutter speed, to capture the motion of the people instead of creating a stagnant image.
Judge: I really like the photo, and the way the light on the wall is captured with the person. You captured their movement very well.

  2. Photo #8
Describe: a face is barely shown on the right side; light streaks curve throughout the photo; picture is blurry; background is dark.
Interpret: looks like a ghost with only a face drifting through a space; looks like a documented ghost; face looks Asian.
Theorize: To achieve this ghostly image, the technique of long exposure while a subject is moving was used. This photo shows a way to make a composition creepy and supernatural through the use of this technique.
Judgement: I really like the paranormal feeling I get from this photo. I like the composition.
