Interpretation: The two people are vaguely apart from each other. This suggests that they may not be walking together. They are probably students based on backpack and clothing. The shade of the trees suggest an area of shelter or comfort, while the bright area beyond the trees are unclear and less secure. The forks in the path also raises questions to where each person is going.
Theorize: The thick path under the trees seems like a very peaceful place. Beyond that safe haven people would need to take their journey into an open place, to their own destination, if they want to be on time for class. To get there, they will have to endure the hot sun which can ruin a nice walk under the trees.
Judgement: I wish it was more obvious if these people were walking together, but I really enjoy the peaceful feel of the trees above them. I also believe that the blurring out of the background far away is successful in bringing attention to the people. It could benefit from showing more of the bottom of the path to make the left person more complete.
