Describe: A white bird on stones, a sharp foreground and blurry background, bird's claw in center of image, dark background Interpret: The bird is lying on the stone-type ground, possibly a bridge, because it has died. The bird is laying on it's back, with it's head facing to the side and claw sticking up, giving it the appearance of not being alive anymore. The background is blurred heavily to emphasis the center, and most important, part of the image. Also, the whitest part of the picture is on the dead animal's feathers, giving it a sense of purity and hope. The claw sticking up gives a sense of life to the image, as if the bird may magically come back to life. The bridge continuing on past the end of the image emphasizes a feeling of hope. Theorize: There is life and energy even in the dead and inanimate. The image emphasizes that there is a lot to learn from dead beings, not just living beings. Judgement: I like how creepy the photo is. The contrast in the bird really draws my attention to it, especially it's limp claw.
Describe: A plant with some kind of flower; flower is diagonal across the image, in the middle; background blurry and flower in focus; image in black and white; the flower has 13 or so parts to it, growing from large to small.
Interpretation: The flower draws the eye across the whole piece, with the flower curved; background has a landscape of greenery; looks like image was taken from a garden; the flower makes me think it was purple in color.
Theorize: The flower shows beauty in a different form. Usually, flowers are depicted with several petals however this flower has several parts to it. It makes a statement that not everyone has the follow the mainstream; being unique and different is beautiful enough.
Judgement: I like it because of the composition and lighting.
